Houston ISD superintendent Mike Miles spoke Tuesday night to families at Forest Brook Middle School in Northeast Houston. It's one of more than two dozen campuses facing sweeping reforms, announced by Miles on the same day he was installed by the Texas Education Agency.
"As a district, we’re a tale of two cities," Miles told parents. "The overall plan is to try to provide more equity and to make sure that we don’t have a tale of two districts, but one district that serves all kids."
