Instructions to register for Virtual Home Buyers Orientation and First Time Home Buyers Class
Participants MUST REGISTER AND ATTEND THE ORIENTATION TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR ALL (8) HOURS and to receive the certificate of participation.
Mandatory Home Buyers Orientation:
July 11, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Thursday) (Required prior to starting Sessions 1, 2, and 3)
Mandatory Home Buyers Class:
July 16, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Tuesday) - Session 1
July 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Wednesday) - Session 2
July 18, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Thursday) - Session 3
Note: You will need to complete all 4 sessions in the same month in order to
receive credit for the class
1st Step - Intake: (Registration)
Borrower & Co-Borrower must complete Houston Area Urban League online

2nd Step - Disclosures: After the first day home buyers class (07/16/2024)
You will receive a link by e mail to complete and sign disclosures.
3rd Step - Supporting Documents:
Complete inspection disclosure and budget received via email. Sign, date and return by email to your assign counselor (You will receive an e mail from your counselor after the last class).
Send the following documents by email or fax for the borrower and co-borrower
(on the loan):
1. Driver License or Photo ID
2. 60 days’ proof of income
3. Last 2 years’ taxes returns
4. 2 months’ bank statements (all bank accounts)
5. Pre-approve letter (if applicable)
6. Sales contract (if applicable)
7. Credit report
*Note: Please block/mark out any SS# or Account numbers on your personal documents. Again, we need to have all this information before schedule the counseling session.
Instructions to register for Virtual Home Buyers Orientation and First Time Home Buyers Class
4th Step - Virtual Class:
All classes will be virtual via Microsoft Teams. Only registered participants will receive a link to join class. Class link will be emailed 24 hours before the start date therefore registration will end by 12 noon the day before class starts. You must have your video on and be able to participate in the chat. A strong data connection will be necessary. If you have any questions or need assistance, please let us know.
