HOUSTON, TX (July 28, 2023) – Today, hundreds will gather as prominent civil rights and political leaders address attendees during this year’s Legacy Leadership Awards Luncheon at the National Urban League’s 4-day conference. 

 

Every year, the National Council of Urban League Guilds hosts the Legacy Leadership Awards Luncheon to pay tribute to Guild members who are leading the charge and have dedicated their lives to use their voices to advocate for those who need the most help. We proudly recognize a diverse ensemble of trailblazing individuals across in the public and private sectors who inspire and motivate their communities to strive for greatness in every way.

 

Notable speakers this year include United States Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, Trial Lawyer Attorney for Justice Benjamin Crump, Attorney General for Minnesota Keith Ellison, and Award-Winning Historian and Writer Professor. Dr. Tanisha C. Ford.

 

Continuing through Saturday at the George R. Brown Convention Center, the nation’s largest civil rights and social justice conference attracts thousands of the nation’s most influential community leaders, together with top policy-makers, academicians, business leaders and artists.
